Lisa started dancing in 1973.  She passed her TCRG (TEACHING) exam, November, 1990 and the ADCRG (ADJUDICATOR) exam in 1998. Lisa is a member of the IRISH DANCING TEACHERS ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA, EASTERN REGION and of AN COIMISIUN LE RINCI GAELACHA (THE IRISH DANCING COMMISSION).  Lisa was taught by 5 teachers during her 18 years of competition, the last being Peter Smith in Elizabeth, New Jersey.  She also had the opportunity to take classes from the Maguire/O’Shea Academy in London, England during her college junior year abroad. Lisa competed throughout the United States, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England.  Lisa won the U.S. Eastern Regional Dancing Championship twice and placed second seven other times.  At the 1989 World Championship in Galway, Ireland, Lisa, representing the U.S. Eastern Region, placed fourteenth to become the first and only competitor in her age group from the Eastern Region to ever win a World medal.  Lisa graduated from Cornell University in 1989.  Lisa  retired as a Vice President in corporate lending for Fleet Bank in 1997, to teach dancing full time.    
Karen started dancing in 1974. She passed her TCRG (TEACHING) exam, January, 1992 and the ADCRG (ADJUDICATOR) exam in 2000.  Karen is a member of the IRISH DANCING TEACHERS ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA, EASTERN REGION and of AN COIMISIUN LE RINCI GAELACHA (THE IRISH DANCING COMMISSION).  Karen danced for the same five teachers as Lisa.  Karen spent the summer of 1990 in London taking classes from the Maguire/O’Shea Academy.  Karen has won the U.S. Eastern Regional Dancing Championship six times.  At the 1987 World Championship in Limerick, Ireland, Karen, representing the U.S. Eastern Region, placed eleventh to become the first and only competitor in her age group from the Eastern Region to ever win a World medal.  In 1989 at the World Championship in Galway, Ireland, Karen again excelled and placed twelfth in her age group and took home a second World medal.  Karen graduated from Georgetown University in 1991. Karen recently retired as an Associate at Morgan Stanley Investment Bank to teach dancing full time.

Lisa and Karen were the Eastern Region Oireachtas Co-Chairpeople from 1995 to 1997. They recently Co-Chaired the 2004 North American Irish Dance Championships held in Philadelphia, PA. They are both presently on the Executive Board of the North American Irish Dancing Teachers' Association-Eastern Region and Lisa is also a Board Member of the North American Irish Dancing Teachers' Association. In 2005 Lisa was elected Vice President of An Coimisiun.
